DERMAGLOW Microdermabrasion
Why should I consider microdermabrasion?
Age, sun, diet and the environment are a few of the factors that lead to the skin deterioration on the face and other parts of the body. With DERMAGLOW particle skin exfoliation technology, there is a safe and gentle way to help rejuvenate, smooth and repair your skin. This form of microdermabrasion has been adopted as the treatment of choice in the United States, making it the most requested non-surgical procedure.
Microdermabrasion is ideal for both men and women seeking to turn back the effects of time and desiring healthy, younger–looking skin. This treatment is ideal for people who are unwilling or unable to undergo existing laser or chemical treatments, due to the high cost, potential side effects, discomfort and long recovery period.
How is microdermabrasion performed?
DERMAGLOW delivers a controlled stream of microcrystals over the skin through a special hand piece. By gently polishing the skin and removing dead skin cells, oils and other buildup, it is possible to improve many skin conditions and imperfections that lead to premature aging.
How long will the treatment take?
The procedure takes about 35–40 minutes in its entirety. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed prior to the actual microdermabrasion and then followed by a soothing moisturizing agent with sunscreen. You may opt to include a full facial with your treatment that would include extractions, a nourishing mask, and a relaxing massage. This would extend your treatment to approximately 75–90 minutes.
Does Microdermabrasion hurt?
No. Most people find this treatment to be relaxing but it can be mildly uncomfortable around the eyes and lips because the skin is thinner in those areas.
What type of skin conditions is microdermabrasion good for?
Microdermabrasion has been proven to be safe and effective for the significant cosmetic reduction of:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sun–damaged skin
- Acne and acne scarring
- Excessive oils
- Blackheads and whiteheads
- Pore size
- Superficial age spots
When will I see results?
Although results vary for person to person, everyone will see and feel a difference immediately after one treatment. However, for optimal results, your skin care professional may recommend a series for your specific needs that will include a designated number of treatments and the time intervals between each treatment.
Is there any down time?
A slight windburn sensation may be experienced. You can return to your normal daily activities immediately after treatment. However, sun exposure is not advised for 7–10 days after treatment and a daily sunscreen is recommended to protect the skin.
Is this type of treatment expensive?
Actually, microdermabrasion is very affordable. There is a per treatment price with and without a full facial included. There is a price break when a series is purchased.

Where does cellulite come from?
The formation of cellulite comes from several different sources.
- Processed foods containing additives
- Artificial sweeteners
- Artificial flavorings and colorings that our bodies are unable to process
- Dehydration
- Lack of exercise
- Stress
- Exposure to free radicals (smoke, sunlight, pollution, etc.)
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a combination of water, fat and toxins that are trapped in a net of collagen and elastin fibers. It is mostly made up of fat but not ordinary fatty tissues. 80-90% of American women have cellulite.
When the body has circulatory and elimination problems the connective tissue loses its strength and un–metabolized fats and wastes become trapped just beneath the skin instead of being expelled through body elimination. Over time, those wastes will enlarge and become hard and push through he spaces in the connective fiber bands, the result being the lumps and bumps that we know as cellulite. Usually this forms in areas of sluggish circulation.
Blood is the life force of the body. A plentiful supply of blood to the fatty tissues will aid in the prevention of cellulite.
Vacuum massage with the Synergie AMS provides negative and positive pressure to the skin and the subcutaneous tissue. It speeds up metabolism and leads to a decrease in the stagnant circulation of the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
Lymphatic drainage also improves significantly. The lymphatic system is the foundation of our immune system. Not only is lymphatic drainage a key to rejuvenation and disease prevention, but it is also the means to reverse and contribute to the natural healing process of the human system. It aids in detoxification, the recovery of illness, and weight and inch loss.
Keys to success with the Synergie AMS treatments are:
- Adequate water intake to flush the body of toxins
- Moderate exercise
- Proper nutritional habits
- Avoid causes of cellulite previously mentioned
